--> Well, a majority would have been nice, and we were so close! I even got exicted for a minute there. But at least the Conservatives are still in power. They're definitely the best thing for Canada right now.
--> I wish at least one of the party leaders had spoken out in support of freedom of speech. Hopefully that issue will be tackled by the Harpers in the near future and not just left off to the side to grow into a bigger problem than it already is presenting for the rights and freedoms of Canadians.
--> Elizabeth May had to be my favourite part of the race, smiling insanely and tooting her own horn after she won. I found myself saying "yeah, but you didn't win.." after everything she so happily shouted to her crowd of supporters. "No one in any other riding is celebrating and showing as much support as we are right now!" ..yeah, but you didn't win. You didn't win your riding OR even one seat. Give it a break, Elizabeth May.
--> I have a crush on Peter MacKay.
--> I will sleep soundly just knowing that Dion will NOT be leading our country. (Okay, let's be serious. I never predicted that..) But it's very possibility is a terrifying thought. The Liberals will undoubtedly choose a new leader soon. It will most likely be either Bob Rae or Ignatieff. I hope it's Ignatieff, because I hate Bob Rae, because he's super obnoxious and all I've ever seen or heard him do is bash the Conservatives, instead of saying what's good about himself or the Liberals. That annoys me. With the leader they've got now, and the mind-boggling thought that he could actually become the leader, who KNOWS who will be the next leader of the Liberal party! Unpredictable and all-over-the-place is their new game. Not a very good game for a federal party...
--> The government that most people have predicted has come. The same one as before.
--> It could be worse...much worse!
--> Yeah, that Peter MacKay...

I don't think it's going to be Bob Rae or Ignatieff for the Liberals.... that ship seems to have sailed.
My prediction is someone who was not in the running last time, as the party cannot seem to agree on either Ignatieff or Rae. John Manley maybe? who knows.
Justin Trudeau won his seat in Montreal, and I wouldnt be surprised if he takes a stab at the eladership race in a year or 2
Bob Rae: unelectable in Ontario. If the liberals ever do pull their heads out of their asses, they would not even consider him for a minute.
Props to the greens for dividing the vote even further, yet failing to win a seat even without liberal competition.
i agree, greens received almost as much of the popular vote as the Bloc, and still sit at 0 seats while the Bloc controls 50.
failure from the fptp system, if you ask me.
and ya i still am gonna bet on John Manley, Trudeau is too young, Ignatieff and Rae too controversial.
First past the post is indeed a garbage system when green gets 7% of the popular vote and not a single seat, as you gloated about.
Peter MacKay is a big cutiepie
It seems that canadians were just bright enough to elect a prime minister who was actually born in canada. Of all the party leaders, harper at least IS canadian. The french guy was born in france, still a citizen. the green goof, much like bruce springsteen, was born in the usa, still a citizen, i am fairly certain comrade laytonovitch was born in siberia...still a citizen! now if harper would just do a better job this term we might not have to worry about the enevitable liberal recovery, which will put one of the wannabe liberals into harpers job 2 years from now.
excuse me jane but jack layton was born in montrel and stephane dion in quebec city. Not like that matters anyways...
hey yeah!!!!! Dion was totally born in france, and Layton was born in mother russia, and tutored personally by lenin.
in my opinion we should go back to the greek system - to vote, you have to be the free born son of a free born greek. No slaves allowed.
Jane Dough is kinda dumb.
