Perhaps we really ARE smarter!

Atlantic Canadians are, on average, not all for the Green Shift! Can you believe it?

The Chronicle Herald reports:

.....
"The poll from Corporate Research Associates, which was conducted last month, shows that a quarter of Atlantic Canadians support the carbon tax idea, while four in 10 are opposed.

The Green Shift, which is proving to be a tough sell for Liberal Leader Stephane Dion, would shift taxes from income and investment to activities that produce carbon dioxide – the emissions that scientists blame for global warming."
.....

(Note: I object to the use of "scientists" in this article. It should be changed to "some scientists." Thanks.)

.....
"Mr. Dion's plan is aimed at reducing emissions by making it more expensive to pollute and more economical to develop green technologies. The Conservatives have derided it for months as a tax grab, with a series of attack ads and statements from Conservative politicians."
.....

Okay, so we're a little apathetic. But apathy is better than stupidity! No, wait...

.....
"Within the region, the Green Shift policy is most popular in Nova Scotia, where 30 per cent of voters support the idea and 42 per cent are opposed."
.....

Gee, that's a shocker. We're leading the hipster parade!
Anyway, that was refreshing to read. Maybe we just can't afford to pay more taxes out here (a perfectly good reason to oppose Dion's plan to seriously raise the taxes). Maybe we have more farmers and fishermen who don't want to pay the extra costs that will hit them hardest. Maybe it gets too chilly for us to not be able to crank up the heat. Or maybe, just maybe, we all put on our thinking caps. :)

In Nova Scotia, where 30% of voters support the 'green shit', it makes one wonder if the people of Toronto are right in believing that everyone from the east coast is an idiot! Now we know that these wonderful Torontonians are at least 30% right. Give or take a voter.
With little or no real plan to accurately predict where the 'green shit' tax grab dollars would be spent, only a 'true' liberal could blindly follow Dion and his green minions down such a dangerously complicated road. Does anyone really believe that this smoke and mirrors act will help to solve the supposed problems on this planet. Surely the masses will realize what a joke this barely understandable liberal moron really is. Can we ever even consider a leader whose words would be even harder to comprehend than our former great liberal Prime Minister Cretien or Cretin or Crepe Suzette or whatever the hell he said his name was!
