So it's Obama.. (aka: we're screwed)

Funny pic. I got it from Brass Balls Radio, where there is also a pretty interesting prediction about the upcoming presidentials.

I wasn't a huge fan of Obama, Clinton or McCain to begin with. I'm still not. I prefer McCain out of all of them, though. He has the drive and patriotism to really fight for his country (which is essential for America right now), and he's pro-Israel. Mind you, his amnesty policies are absolutely ridiculous: "If you've cheated the system successfully, we'll reward you with citizenship!" And he' all-round a little too left for me. Right now I think the States needs someone to REPAIR, not to CHANGE. So when Obama said that McCain was sort of a carbon copy of Bush, and therefore he would not be conducive to change in the country, not only was he wrong about McCain, but he was wrong about what the country needs.

McCain is hardly as neo-con as Bush. I would argue that many of his policies barely pass as Republican at all. But he may be the man to repair. Help fix the debt a little, and restore the patriotism that many Americans have seemingly lost. Bush made a speech a few months back about how crucial it is for Americans (and the presidential candidates) to realize that the country can't just pull out of the war. They can't just eject themselves from a situation and expect there not to be serious repercussions. The speech was delivered very off-handedly, and Bush was joking around a lot. This was probably because he realizes that a lot of the country has kind of stopped liking him a teeny little bit... And also, he has no upcoming election to worry about. But his main points ring true.

Barack Hussein may be offering America change...but is it really the change they need? Affiliated with a wacko church for twenty-some years, he later renounced his connection with it, and the rev, because it was beginning to hurt his campaign. Well, duh. Of course he's going to cut off those ties (publicly)! This doesn't mean he still doesn't hold the anti-white, anti-Semitic, anti-American values that his church is founded on. And yes, his name does rhyme with "Iraq Hussein Osama." Not that that's the reason he shouldn't be president. No, more because he's kind of a liar, kind of a racist, and a smug little bastard to boot. Oh, but he's such a dreeeeaaamy public speaker......

Granted, he's got the charisma, according to his starstruck fans. But really, the democratic primaries this year were a joke.
"I'm black. That's a change. Vote for me!"
"I'm a woman. That's a change. Vote for me!"
".....Okay!"

While McCain makes strong, rational points about why Israel needs the support of America, Obama recalls times when he had a Jewish camp counsellor. He's got that "good enough because he uses pretty words" thing going for him. Many people say that he inspires them to vote again. He's a good politcian, that's for sure. All snide and distracting. But if you think America is in bad shape now, give him a few years in office. Whoooo boy.

I was really rooting for Hillary in this one, and only because I figured McCain could definitely beat her.
But now that Obama-mama has won the democratic vote...I think he's going to take the cake.
And that really, really is not a good thing.

I would not be so quick to count Sen. Clinton out just yet. I think there's plenty of political theatre to play out before the August Democratic Party convention.

BTW, I've been enjoying your very insightful posts.

What is rational about using tax payers money to support Israel???

Mcain is the worst person for the job right now. Have you heard this man try to talk about economics?

Please don't tell me he is going to surround himself with smart people like "Jack Kemp"; what a joke.

"Fix the debt".....ahahahaha

GiB do you know anything about the US at all? Do you know anything about Mcain's policies?

Is he going to get rid of earmarks? A whopping <1% of the federal budget...another joke.

I think Hill would be a tougher opponent than Obamarama, that guy is simply unelectable, too far left, inexperienced, dodgy friends, unsubstantive on the issues, a typical Dhimmi a la McGovern, Carter, Dukakis, Kerry, where do they find them?

classically liberal. Didn't McCain vote against all earmarks for his State? And if you don't know the reasons for supporting Israel you shouldn't be commenting here. Like most liberals you fail to see the big picture or more than a couple of weeks down the road.

Yeah thats the point. His strategy to stop defecit spending is reduce earmarks. What a joke, they are less than 1% of the federal budget. Meanwhile he suggests things like staying in Iraq for 100 years not to mention maintaining the other 700 out-of-country military bases around the world. What a joke. This guy wouldn't know what conservatism is if he had The People's Pottage tatooed on the inside of his eye lids.

I love how i get called a "liberal" in the left leaning type of way on this blog so much. It really points to the fact that most of you are NOT conservatives and really don't know anything about conservatism.

If you were you would know what CLASSICAL liberalism is. You would also know that modern conservatism is intended to preserve that ideology in resistance to New Deal/welfare liberalism.

This is what has become of the American "right" and is bleeding into the Canadian "right". I have no party to vote for because either way I'm voting for big government.

Do some reading kids. You're destroying the "right" by believing all the rhetoric of the CPC/Republicans required to gather their segmented and disparate voting base.

Now for a most serious comment,

We're screwed? I wasn't aware that Canada has become part of the United States. I think you really fear to much what these politicians say they will do. When was the last time you actually saw politcians follow through with "radical" ideas that they promised during their election campaigns. Hilliary and Obama are practically carbon copies. It makes no difference who gets in, with regards to us in Canada. Maybe McCains ideas about ties to Israel have some deeper meaning to you, but the general public really has no clue what goes on there, and therefore, won't care. McCain will continue the Jingoistic US foriegn policy that was started by Bush, and continue to let the American economy to go down the tubes. The American housing market and gas prices will continue to fail, causing Americans much much much more grief than a war halfway across the world. America has to step back, and take a look at what it really wants. Obama may have a few skeletons in his closet, but who doesn't. Does it really matter that he drank, smoked marijuana and tried cocaine in his youth, like SO many of us, and millions of others did in their youth. If anything, this just shows how real he is. Elitist? Appeasing? Racist? Give me a break. These are just buzz words that you have tried to push onto those less educated, tryign to scare them into voting for someone else.

America needs change. Radical change. A conservative-minded person, whoes party does not have a history of change for the better, certainly is not better equiped for the job than someone, who may have smoked a joint or two in his youth.

Classically Liberal, although I don't agree with alot you say, I suppose I will follow the old adage: "The enemy of your enemy is your friend". Keep up the good work.

GIB, I disagree with you about Obama beating McCain in the election. I don't think he will be able to win because he is unpopular in many of the key battle ground states. I think Hilary would have given him a much better fight. Race will also be an issue.

Classically liberal - it is rational that the US supports Israel because it is there strongest and most stable ally in the region and the only democracy.
It is a country with similar values to those of the West, unlike its Arab neighbours. For your informaiton Barrack Obama doesn't have anymore knowledge on the economy than John McCain. Have you ever heard Obama talk about the economy, he talks about change, but yet he is unsure about what he is going to change. If he pulls them out of NAFTA than he truly is an idiot. None the less Obama's foreign policy is a joke.

SA, I do not support Obama or Clinton. I routed for Ron Paul this whole time. He is a real principled conservative and has an amazing grasp of economics.

I did note the 'classically' in your title but wasn't sure if you meant it in its true sense, one never knows these days.
I do agree with much of what you say but I still take issue with your seeming to want to abandon Israel. A country can't survive in isolation and it behooves us to know who our allies are in the world. Similarly, the '100' years in Iraq, we are still in Germany, Japan and Korea after more than half of 100 years, and they are necessary commitments and useful bases since you never know what turns the world will take, who actually predicted the Islamist resurgence and who can predict the future actions of China.
I note from later comments that you support Ron Paul, haven't followed him much but the problem with candidates like him is that they are basically unelectable so that road takes you nowhere, politics being the art of the possible as they say. FWIW my first choice was Fred Thompson but I'll be happy with McCain over the inept and inexperienced Obama any day.

I agree with you about Obama. I said that from the very begining of the primaries. He is very wet behind the ears.

With respect to Israel, I don't see why the US (or our country for that matter) should be militarily or economically supporting anyother sovereign nation. I beleive the role of government is to enforce criminal laws, contracts and provide national defense.

All the money going around the world through aid, the funding of bases, arms deals and the propping up regimes would be much better spent of real national defense; border protection, etc.

Not to mention the consequences of such foreign intervention. A great book on this is "Blowback" by Berkley professor Chalmers Johnson. Johnson defines blowback as the unintended consequences of American actions abroad. When blowback occurs the public is often unaware of the root cause and asks questions like "Why do they hate us?"

American history is marked by instances of blowback. Think about it. Iran (installed the Shah), Iraq (supported Saddam aganst Iran), Bin Laden (funded him aganst the soviets. If other countries intervened into our affairs as much we do in theirs, we would be mad as hell.

The only reason he was unelectable was because that was the matra of the MSM since day one. Even when he made more money then the rest. Even when he beat Rudy and Fred.

GiB...I agree with your views on the obamanator.
My prediction is a Hillary Clinton win! Sort of. Here's my theory.
Let's see...if obaminator wins the election and becomes the first Muslim President of the United States and then gets his ass assinated on, oh let's say sept. 9, 2009. This would then make his VP, Hillary, the next President. This would allow another first of course. Then the conspiracy theorists will have their inverted 666 and Hillary will become the defacto anti-christ and we all burn in hell happily ever after. Or something like that! Oh yeah, somewhere in there arnold schwarzeneger will anounce the fourth reich and admit that the Germans did win WW2 after all and all of this has been a big mistake, declaring himself emperor of the world and destroying all movies except HIS!

Diethylamide said...

Jane Dough,

He is not muslim. His father who left he and his mother when Obama was a child, was Muslim. Obama lived for years with his WHITE christian parents in Chicago. Please check your facts before you go on some crazy rant about something that is completly unplausible, and filled with factual errors.

Of course, you could have been trying to be funny. Either way, you fail bigtime

diethylamide...take a chill pill and enjoy your ride on the media inspired obama express. you obviously have a little problem adjusting to the idea of parody. try to be less of a dick and do try not to choke on your mass consumptionism. what ever they feed you it seems, you are prepared to swallow.
obama is a madrassa trained closet muslim. absolutely nothing wrong with being a muslim, but his is of the radical islamist variety and just because you cannot see the forest for the white trees doesn't mean you know shit. but it could!
what do YOU think you really know about obama. you only know what the liberal dominated and inspired media lets you know. you are as weak in argument as you are uninspired.
good luck with your ideas...what you know about muslims is NOTHING! do us all a favour and get back to your lifes ambition...as a civil servant, no doubt!
smile...there are millions more just like you. this is why the world we live in is what it is!
